Aerial combat
This F-16 demonstrates its great range of maneuverability here during aerial intercept exercises. While the air-to-ground combat role is extremely important in the continuing Global War on Terror, the Air Force must maintain the capability to adapt to any threat to the United States or her allies. The F-16 C/D model is capable of withstanding up to nine G’s, which is nine times the force of gravity, during combat maneuvers. This capability exceeds that of other fighter aircraft in the world and keeps the F-16 at the forefront of fighter aircraft superiority. (Air Force Photo/Senior Master Sgt. Mahmoud Rasouliyan)
