Col. Daniel E. Mendoza serves as the Deputy Commander, 36th Wing, Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. He is responsible for the conduct of Indo-Pacific Command's tanker task force, bomber task force, theater security packages, and contingency response operations from Andersen AFB. He is also tasked to ensure the successful employment, deployment, integration, and enabling of air and space forces from the most forward sovereign U.S. Air Force base in the Indo-Pacific Region. Here, he is responsible for the well-being of more than 8,000 military and civilian personnel on Andersen Air Force Base and supports Department of Defense installation management for Joint Region Marianas.
Colonel Mendoza earned his commission in 2002 through the ROTC program at Florida International University. He has served in numerous operational and staff capacities at the squadron, group, wing, Numbered Air Force, and Combatant Command levels and commanded the 42d Operations Support Squadron, Maxwell AFB, Alabama. Prior to this assignment Colonel Mendoza served as the Commander, 36th Contingency Response Group, 36th Wing, Andersen Air Force Base, Guam.
Col. Mendoza is a senior pilot with over 2,100 flying hours in the T-6, TC-12, and C-130E/H aircraft including more than 390 combat hours in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, and NEW DAWN. Prior to this assignment Col Mendoza served as the Commander, 36th Contingency Response Group, Andersen AFB, Guam.
