Airman 1st Class Joshua Silva, 36th Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron, launches a B-2 Spirit from the 509th Bomb Wing, 13th Bomb Squadron, Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo., March 13, during a Polar Lightning exercise originating at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. Polar Lightning missions are flown to showcase the global reach and power of the U.S. bomber force and give aircrews an opportunity to hone their skills. The long-range, strategic bombers are part of the continuous rotating bomber presence deployed to Andersen.
