Guam 9/11 Dragon Boat Race 2011

TAMUNING, Guam—Andersen Air Force Base Fire Department Airman paddle out to the starting line during the first heat at the 2012 Second Annual 9/11 Commemorative Dragon Boat Race at Matapang Beach, Sept. 22. This year’s boat Race had 10 person teams including the Guam Police Department, Andersen and deployed-in Kadena AFB Fire Department Airman, Guam Fire Department, Guam National Guard, Naval Fire Department, Navy Tag Five and the Haggan Outrigger Canoe Club. The dragon boat race consisted of eight separate heats competing for time, with the Guam Police Department taking the overall win with 2:12.63 seconds. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt.
