We've all been there. We ring in the new year with a list of resolutions and by March, or maybe even by the middle of the year, we've abandoned those resolutions for one reason or another.

Let 2008 be the year you break the cycle. No more resolutions! The key here is goal setting. But it doesn't end there, it is essential that you devise a plan to ensure you achieve your goals.

January is Healthy Weight Month and if improving your health and fitness level is your goal, then the Health and Wellness Center is your one stop shop.

Most of us know the HAWC as the place to go to for physical therapy, but it actually has a host of programs that will help anyone achieve and maintain a healthy weight.

Achieving a healthy weight involves much more than cardio and calorie counting. There are four aspects to well-being: physical, emotional, spiritual and social. The HAWC has a class or program that focuses on each of these areas.

The staff consists of a nutrition technician, a registered dietician and an exercise physiologist. Now that's what I call "The A Team."

The great thing about the HAWC besides its many services and accredited personnel is the fact that it is free. There are no expensive membership fees involved and no binding contracts. Don't let your Air Force benefits go to waste. Visit the HAWC and check out the great things the staff has set up just for you.

Throughout the month of January I will highlight classes and programs available through the HAWC to help you on your quest to be the best you can be.
