Andersen Airmen participated in an Ammunition Production Exercise, the exercise took place from July 28 thru Aug. 2 at Andersen AFB, Guam.

The CAPEX was a three day non-rated exercise providing unit training in mass production of non-nuclear war reserve munitions and training in mass munitions assembly in support of aircraft generation. It validated the credibility of using combat ammunition production techniques in Pacific Air Forces taught at the Air Force Combat Ammunition Center.

The goal of the exercise was to determine if current munitions employment planning is adequate to support operational plans.

CAPEX continues to be the best tool available for all levels of command within the logistics community to evaluate munitions combat readiness, training requirements, and Combat Munitions Plan adequacy.

All participants were expected to walk away with a better understanding and greater appreciation of what it takes to initiate and sustain combat efforts in the Pacific.
