Andersen to assess emergency readiness during exercise

ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam – Andersen Air Force Base is scheduled to conduct an emergency management exercise here, Feb. 8 and Feb. 9.

There will be increased noise and activity to include sirens, messages from loud speakers and alert vehicles that will respond to various emergency simulations. Smoke may be visible from the fire training area on base as emergency responders will evaluate fire rescue response procedures.

The exercise involves various training scenarios and is intended to prepare Andersen Airmen for potential incidents including aircraft malfunctions, injured personnel, base emergencies and other incidents. The exercise is a routinely scheduled event, ensuring ongoing readiness of first responders and support teams.

Base access and traffic may be impacted and may cause delays.
