ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam --
The National Weather Service (NWS) is tracking a storm south of Guam that will affect the island over the next 24-72 hours. This storm will bring high winds, heavy rain and dangerous surf conditions.
A high surf advisory is in effect for south and west facing shores. Surf up to 6 to 8 feet along south and west facing shores will become hazardous as surf builds up to between 7 to 10 feet due to increasing monsoon swell.
Avoid venturing near reef lines and exposed beaches. Follow beach warning flags, most if not all public beaches should be closed in these weather conditions, regardless exercise caution.
Please take all the necessary basic precautions to ensure you and your family members are taken care of.

Precautions include:
- Assembling or keeping an emergency preparedness kit for your household (water/food)
- Remove loose debris in your yard and store or secure any loose items that can become airborne in heavy winds
- Fill your vehicles and get gas for your generators
