  • Air Force fields new hiring process for new first sergeants

    The Air Force has removed the first sergeant assignment from developmental special duty and is using a combination volunteer and nomination process when bringing on first sergeants for their initial assignments in the career field to ensure the right Airmen are selected and assigned to these special duty positions.
  • CMSAF discusses leading with purpose

    Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Kaleth O. Wright represents the highest enlisted level of leadership and provides direction for the enlisted force, representing their interests, as appropriate, to the American public and to those in all levels of government. Wright’s speech focused on taking care of Airmen and continuing to develop a combative edge for future efforts.
  • CMSAF to engage with ACC Airmen about resiliency through video games

    Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force Kaleth O. Wright will play a football video game with three Airmen on this live-stream platform to discuss how Airmen can influence each other and develop a resilient organizational culture. The ACC Airmen will be chosen through a video contest that ends on Oct. 11.
  • CMSAF highlights resiliency while visiting Dover AFB

    The visit included stops with Airmen, both active duty and reserve, throughout Dover AFB.
  • AFH1 phone app available now on Apple and Google Play

    The AFH1 app includes the “The Air Force Handbook 1,” and study guide, as well as Air Force Instruction 36-2618, The Enlisted Force Structure, known as the “The Little Brown Book.” There is also access to the “The Little Blue Book” which focuses on the profession of arms. Other tools such as flash cards, audio and practice tests can also be found on the app.
  • CMSAF emphasizes human connections at Hanscom all call

    Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Kaleth O. Wright spoke about resilience and leadership topics during a town hall Sept. 6. More than 400 Airmen from Hanscom AFB, as well as other invited Airmen from geographically separated units, listened as Wright touched on those topics and answered questions.
  • CDO, AFIMSC enable readiness through cloud-based visualization tool

    The VAULT Platform is the data office-sponsored platform that provides cyber-secure, cloud-based tools to connect, find, share and learn from Air Force data. It was implemented to be fully compliant with the Air Force Data Services Reference Architecture (Air Force released in February 2019). The AFDSRA provides a blueprint for Air Force organizations to implement platforms that are able to share data across the enterprise.

    PTN is an experimental program under the “Learning Next” umbrella with a focus on understanding how Airmen learn, as well as exploring and potentially prototyping a flying training environment that integrates various technologies to produce pilots in an accelerated-and learning-focused manner.
  • OTS beta courses test accelerated commissioning program for SNCOs

    Beta tests for the Officer Training School-Accelerated Commissioning Program, scheduled to run in August and November of this year, will each last 14 days, compared to the current program which lasts 40 training days.
  • ETDC supplying Airmen with right gear for mission

    Ali Al Salem’s ETDC, currently the second largest distribution center in the (USCENTCOM) theater of operations, is the distribution center support hub for more than 14,000 warfighters, issuing up to 100,000 items worth $56 million every six months.
