Thanks for the CFC contributions Published Nov. 23, 2008 By Capt. Adam Rector 36 Wing Combined Federal Campaign Project Officer ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam -- Over the last six weeks of the Combined Federal Campaign, the 36th Wing and tenant units raised over $153,000. More than 40 percent of Team Andersen made a donation to one or more of the 2,400 charities covered by the CFC. With the current economic downturn it would have been very easy for most of us to focus on ourselves and reduce or eliminate our charitable donations just when these charities need our help the most. However, in a true holiday spirit Team Andersen actually increased its giving by 11.8 percent more than last year. While the 36th Wing did not meet the goal of $156,500, I will be the first to tell you that this was truly a 'stretch goal.' It was not an easy one or two percent increase over previous years, but an impressive 15 percent increase. It was a target that we all shot for and though we did fall just a bit short, we did make a huge stride forward in the amount of money we were able to give to these worthy charities. So please don't be upset by the fact that we did not quite fill up a thermometer on a piece of poster board, but take heart in the great amount of good we have done during this campaign. Finally, I would like to send my personal thanks to all the CFC unit project officers and key people who helped make this campaign a success. Running the CFC for a wing, group, squadron or flight takes a lot more time and effort than most people realize, and the time and effort you all gave was what made all the difference. Thank you.
