ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam --
Movie showings returned to the Andersen base theater June 6 after a nearly year-long hiatus.
The Army & Air Force Exchange Service has transferred operation of the theater to the 36th Force Support Squadron, who has assigned Airmen currently working at the Hot Spot to be responsible for the theater, FSS officials said.
The current film projection system in the theater does not support the standard method AAFES uses to play movies at other installations, so FSS has stepped in to fill the gap with existing movies that are in DVD format, said Maj. Adam Vaccarezza, 36th FSS operations officer.
"I'm excited about bringing this program back to Andersen," Vaccarezza said. "It's good for the community."
Movies will play every Friday and most Saturdays from 6 p.m. until the movie ends. Additionally, a projector will be set up at Arc Light Park where movies will be played outdoors the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month.
