Each year elementary school students across the country send Valentine's Day greetings to U.S. service members throughout the world. This year the 506 Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron reversed the tradition.

Instead of receiving Valentine's greetings, the men and women of the 506th EARS sent the greetings.

On Valentine's Day, approximately 100 Valentine's Day cards and lollipops were delivered by squadron members to Andersen Elementary school while another 360 cards were delivered to Upi Elementary just outside Andersen's Santa Rosa Gate.

In addition, 100 holiday greetings were sent back home to Wilson Elementary School in Plant City, Fla.

The 506th EARS consists of air crew, maintenance, life support, flight records, crew communications and intelligence personnel primarily from Grand Forks AFB, N.D., and MacDill AFB, Fla. In addition, the squadron contains one person each from Altus AFB, Okla.; Scott AFB, Ill.; Fairchild AFB, Wash.; and Maridian AFB, Mich.
