Top of the Rock and Magellan Inn offer special Valentine's Day dinners

The 36th Services Squadron has two special dining events scheduled for Valentine's Day -- one for servicemembers and their special Valentine at the Magellan Inn, and the other, at the Top of the Rock, open to all adults. 

The Top of the Rock's Sweetheart Dinner menu will include a choice of the following gourmet selections: 

- Chateaubriand for two with duchess potatoes, parmesan tomatoes and broccoli crowns
- Cajun Crab Cakes with Creole tartar sauce, roasted red potatoes and sautéed vegetables
- Lobster Tail with duchess potatoes and chef's vegetables
- Seared Duck Breast with fig compote, gorgonzola polenta with walnuts and sautéed vegetables
- Rosemary crusted lamb chops with mustard cream sauce, herbed risotto and sautéed vegetables
- Citrus Mahi Mahi with orange glaze, lemon rice and sautéed vegetables
- Roasted eggplant with scallion ginger oil, herbed risotto and sautéed vegetables 

Each meal will also come complete with mixed greens tossed salad, red wine vinaigrette, soup d'jour, fresh baked bread, a glass of wine, and a selection of mouthwatering desserts. 

Prices range from $24 to $43 per person. Chateaubriand for 2 is $58.

To make reservations, which are required due to limited seating, call the Top of the Rock at 366-6166.  

The Magellan Inn Military Dining Facility is also going all-out for Valentine's Day with a special dinner meal from 6 to 8 p.m. It's free for meal card holders and a la carte pricing for basic allowance for subsistence customers and guests (adults only). 

Their menu selections will include prime rib, grilled salmon, lobster fettuccini with garlic sauce, asparagus with cheese sauce, cheesecake with fresh strawberries, fountain drinks and champagne. 

The Magellan Inn will be able to accommodate 75 diners for this special evening. A reservation form will be available at the registers beginning Feb. 1. For more information regarding the Magellan Inn's special Valentine's dinner, call 366-5466.
