Commander's Corner Published Feb. 26, 2008 By Brig. Gen. Douglas Owens 36th Wing commander ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam -- As many of us witnessed and responded to Saturday's mishap of a B-2 Spirit from our deployed 509th Bomb Wing, our first thoughts, of course, went to the plane's aircrew, who, thankfully, are safe. This week I have seen Team Andersen demonstrate amazing effort, coordination and teamwork. Clearly the fruits of your combined Air Force experiences and training were a cohesive and, above all, safe response to this rare event. For that I thank you. You already know that what we do in defense of our nation is not without risk and the road ahead sometimes uncharted, but as you continue to support the efforts of our Whiteman family and investigators, I have faith your professionalism and expertise and will bear lasting, positive results for the Air Force. Thank you for what you've done this week and for continuing to support our fellow Airmen.
