The U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific's Alaska Brass kicked off its tour of Guam with a one-hour performance at the Base Exchange Dec. 15.

"I thought the Alaska Brass visit was incredible," said Senior Airman Chloe Rainey, 36th Medical Operations Squadron medical technician from the women's health clinic. "They sounded great and exemplified outstanding professionalism from their appearance to their performance."

The Band of the Pacific serves Pacific Air Forces' ceremonial, airmen morale, and commanders outreach needs and objectives throughout the Pacific Rim. Air Force bands promote esprit de corps, while fostering community relations and projecting a positive Air Force image.

"I think that Airmen are motivated by seeing these talented and professional individuals play great music while shopping at the BX," Airman Rainey said. "The music definitely kept me motivated while I was gift wrapping. It took my mind off the people watching me wrap their gifts."

The Alaska Brass, a five-piece brass and percussion ensemble from Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska, perform many styles of music, including Baroque and Classical, marches, popular, ragtime, dixie and jazz.

"Because of the fact we're in PACAF, we're a long way from home, too," said Tech. Sgt. Bill Granger, who plays tuba for Alaska Brass. "We just wanted to come out and remind everyone at Andersen of the importance of their job and that we're all thinking about them."

The Alaska Brass will be performing unit caroling around the base throughout the week. They will also hold off-base performances at the following locations:
