ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam -- The 36th Wing Medical Group will be advocating International Infection Prevention Week, Oct. 14 to Oct. 20, here.
"Hand washing is the number one way to prevent the spread of infection," said Maj. Dana Baker, 36th Medical Group aerospace medicine flight commander and infection preventionist.
The 36th MDG will have a table and display set up in the atrium at the Andersen Medical building throughout the week, and will be focusing on educating Team Andersen on the importance of both hand and respiratory hygiene.
"We want to highlight how our facility complies with infection prevention requirements and set that as an example for other units," said Major Baker. "We are not only highlighting our capabilities to prevent infection as healthcare professionals, but what our population can contribute to the fight as well."
