Andersens's beach ensures health of endangered turtles
Josefa Muñoz, a Sea Turtle Biologist with the University of Guam Sea Grant, releases the babies of an endangered Green Sea Turtle July 25, 2019 at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. Munoz spent her morning monitoring and in some cases, rescuing the babies of the endangered sea turtle. The focus of the monitoring and excavating is to estimate the number of turtle eggs that successfully made it to the safety of the water and determine hatching success. Monitoring the nesting and hatching of endangered turtles helps ensure the continued health of their species and lets team Andersen act as good stewards of Guam’s many natural resources.
