Hurricane Hunters facilitates meteorological study from Andersen AFB

ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, GUAM - National Geographic producer Hsin-Hsin Han and videographer Yuan-Hsi Niu film Master Sgt. Jeff Stack, 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron weather loadmaster, as he records data received from a dropsonde Sept. 20. The 53rd WRS uses dropsondes equipped with high frequency radio and other sensing devices to measure and relay a vertical atmospheric profile of the temperature, humidity and barometric pressure and wind data. The Air Force Reserve Command?s ?Hurricane Hunters?, deployed to Andersen from Keesler AFB, Miss., to conduct meteorological research on tropical cyclones in the Western Pacific.
