Guam school honors longest-serving AFJROTC instructor with memorial service

ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam - United States Air Force Honor Guard member Staff Sgt. Noah Bolton presents the American flag to Ann Merritt while the 21-gun salute is rendered during Col. Walter "Tony" Merritt's memorial service at the John F. Kennedy High School in Tammuning, Guam, Oct. 4. Colonel Merritt retired from active duty in 1979 but never left the service. He gave back to the community by serving 28 years as a Junior Reserve Officer's Training Corps instructor at JFK High School and Air Force Liaison Officer to the Air Force Academy.
