Andersen observed National Police Week, which was May 11 through May 17, with multiple events on base, ranging from a "Battle of the Badges" football game to a retreat ceremony to honor fallen defenders.

National Police Week occurs each year during the week of May 15 in recognition of the service and sacrifice of members of U.S. law enforcement agencies. The week was established by Congress in 1962 as a way to recognize those law enforcement officers who were killed in the line of duty protecting others.
