36th CRG aids in Typhoon Soudelor relief effort

Airmen from the 36th Contingency Response Group landed on the island of Saipan Aug. 9, 2015. The 48 square mile island was battered by Typhoon Soudelor Aug. 2, as the powerful storm made its way across the Pacific. The 36th CRG Airmen deployed from Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, to assist in storm recovery efforts. Numerous agencies are contributing to the relief effort including service members from the USS Ashland, Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Two Five and Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Reinforced), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit.
