The Chief Master Sergeant/Senior Master Sergeant Promotion Program Fact Sheet for cycles 07E9/08E8 is now available for review.
This fact sheet is designed as an individual handout and is furnished as part of a continuing effort to inform eligible individuals about the chief master sergeant and senior master sergeant promotion program. The Enlisted Promotion Program Fact Sheet has been forwarded to the commander support staffs. If you have not received a copy, contact your CSS immediately. This guide explains how the promotion program operates and is loaded with a wealth of information and can answer a lot of common questions.
The importance of your personal involvement cannot be overemphasized. It is up to you to ensure:
(1) you have been properly identified as eligible;
(2) you are considered in the correct CAFSC;
(3) you know when you test, obtain the current study reference materials, study, meet the testing schedule, and are administered the correct version of the USAFSE;
(4) ensure your senior noncommissioned officer selection folder at the Air Force Personnel Center is accurate and complete, and
(5) constantly review your Data Verification Record for accuracy.
All eligible personnel are required to obtain/review their DVRs on the Virtual Military Personnel Flight or Air Force Portal using the instructions posted on the Enlisted Promotions website http://ask.afpc.randolph.af.mil. Hard copies will not be distributed by MPF/CSS personnel. If your DVR is not available on the vMPF promotion eligibility cutoff date , contact MPF promotions section or AFPC immediately. DVRs for cycle 07E9 are currently available on vMPF. DVRs for cycle 08E8 should be available on or about Sept. 30, 2007. This is the most important tool provided for your use to ensure information on your promotion file is complete and accurate. Along with reviewing the DVR, you should review your senior NCO selection folder maintained at AFPC to ensure data is correct and all appropriate documents are filed accordingly.
The new Professional Development Guide, formerly PFE study guide, will be used as the study reference starting with the 08 promotion cycles. The first cycles affected will be the chief master sergeant (07E9) cycle in September 07, and the senior master sergeant cycle (08E8) in December 07.
If you have any questions regarding the CMSgt/SMSgt promotion selection process, ask personnel at the MPF career enhancement element, or your CSS for the answers. Your involvement will ensure you are given fair and equitable promotion consideration.
