Ninety-two security forces members from throughout PACAF and CONUS graduated from Commando Warrior's 14-day ground combat skills course Sept. 21.

The curriculum included intense air base defense training all security forces members must complete before deploying in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom.

The 36th Security Forces Squadron provided instructors for the live fire range with pop targets out to 600 meters, a capability many of the students had not previously experienced.

The 736th Security Forces Squadron provided opposing forces to roleplay the enemy for the students. This not only enhanced the students' skills during a two-day field training xxercise, but also provided the PACAF Inspector General team a realistic venue to conduct an operational readiness inspection on the 15th Security Forces Squadron and the 154th Security Forces Squadron from the Hawaii Air National Guard.

The 36th Medical Operations Squadron volunteered their off-duty time and provided medical support during the FTX. Safety of the students and cadre is a top priority. Without the support from the 36th Medical Operations Squadron, the instructors couldn't have provided the safest training possible.

The 36th Force Support Squadron provided incredible amounts of support through many different avenues. Examples included classrooms from the education center, the Palm Tree Golf Course for various briefings, boxed meals from the dining facility and the base theater for the Graduation ceremony.

Not to be outdone, Air Force Space Command's Detachment 5 provided dorm rooms and their own gym facility to help house and take care of the students.

The Guam Air National Guard provided seven cadre to Commando Warrior. Without their support, the quality of support and instruction for the students would fall.

"I am proud of my unit and the effort they displayed during GCS Class 08-03," said Capt. Devin Sproston, 736th SFS. "My cadre were professional and providing superior training. The support we received from the wing and group was superb and reflects Team Andersen's commitment to excellence."
