Tyler Franjesevic likes math, books, writing and tee ball, but the second grader dreams of being a pilot when he grows up.

Tyler's teachers selected the Andersen Elementary School student as a star student for his consideration for his peers and his conduct within the classroom.

"He always uses manners," said Jane Garcia, Tyler's second grade teacher. "He always has a 'please' or 'thank you' with every comment and does everything he's told and then some."

Tyler often finishes his classroom tasks early and moves on to other assignments such as homework or helping around the classroom.

"Tyler always asks me what I want him to do if he finishes his work early," Ms. Garcia said. "He does well in all subjects, but he always finishes early at math. He often helps to clean up the room."

Tyler also has a soft spot for his fellow students.

"I make sure all my friends and classmates are okay, especially if they are crying or they fell down," Tyler said. "It's not fun when you fall, and I want to make sure they know they have a friend that will help them."

Tyler also talked about his ultimate goal of becoming a pilot one day.

"I think I'll make a good pilot because I'm good at math," said Tyler. "I want to be able to fly. I think planes are cool, especially the ones that go fast."
