Senior Airman Juana Serrano, Wing Staff Tax Center manager, was awarded Team Andersen's Best April 13.

"Airman Serrano has been preparing for her position since Nov. 11," said Master Sgt. Ralph Oliver and Master Sgt. Judy Bland, Airman Serrano's supervisors.

"Completely aware of the challenges she faced running an office, alone as a Senior Airman, she learned tax laws and rules on her own," commented her supervisors. "Airman Serrano also assisted in the training of volunteers, thereby ensuring everyone could work together as a team for the benefit of the Airmen."

Along with supervising over 30 volunteers at the Tax Center, Airman Serrano is thorough with her work and bringing Airmen excellent results.

"Airman Serrano reviews every tax form filled out on a daily basis, ensuring there are no errors, so there will be no delays in the refunds of Andersen AFB Airmen," said Sergeant Oliver and Sergeant Bland. "To date, Airman Serrano has ensured that the Instant Revenue Service approved over $384,000 in refunds, an excellent accomplishment for such a young Airman."

Andersen's Best is a recognition program which highlights a top performer from the 36th Wing. Each week, supervisors nominate a member of their team for outstanding performance and the wing commander presents the selected Airman/civilian with an award.

To nominate your Airmen/civilian for Andersen's Best, contact your unit chief or superintendent explaining their accomplishments.
